Now that Jack is one month old, we are all getting tons of sleep, cleaning more than ever before and are feeling completely refreshed! Ok so, that is obviously not true but I am pretending because that is the closest I am going to come to a full nights sleep, a spotless kitchen and a fresh look that rivals any teenager! Jack is a great sleeper, a hearty eater and a sweet alert and happy boy. We do have a lot to learn about him still though for the soothing of those fussy moments....or hours! He was 5lbs. 12oz. when he was born and is now 6lbs. 4oz.! We can't believe he is growing so fast...we knew he would but it is amazing when it happens right before your eyes. He loves music and my mom and I actually took him to his first concert this week at St. Olaf College. It was the Oslo Chamber Choir visiting from Norway, they were amazing and Jack slept through it all. He usually keeps his eyes wide open when he hears music and looks around curiuosly. With his long fingers we think he'll be a pianist or guitarist! Whatever he becomes, he will love music....it's in his blood! We're still waiting for those first non-gas induced smiles and cooing, but he is getting there! One of the pictures below is our life saving Dr. Thorn...he is our hero. Because he was so instrumental in Jack's delivery, I wanted to have a picture of him holding our little gem. Needless to say, we are totally in love...not to mention partial, he really is THE cutest baby we've ever seen!

Our perfect little Jack is finally here!
After a week with Jack, just being his mommy, I am finally getting back to the world I used to know. Life seems so much more clear and yet more fuzzy. Jack is the best thing to grace my life since...well nothing else has ever been so delightful, precious, fulfilling, peace-bringing and life affirming. Frankly, I feel like my life began the moment he was born.

Just before baby...
With our due date only two weeks away now, we decided we wanted some pictures to commemorate our long journey through pregnancy and to have these memories forever. David's sister Amanda lovingly spent the afternoon with us taking these great pictures, some of which we are going to frame for Jack's room and some for ours. We spent time at the nearby our house at a local park and then went to the rock garden grotto that has always been a beautiful place to take photos! I can hardly believe our little man is so close to being here, but when I look at my belly in these pictures...it becomes even more real.
I am going to try to post our last ultrasound video again too, it was being finicky last time. Our little boy was 5.2lbs as of our 36 week appointment and should now be near 6lbs. He is getting bigger, I can almost feel him growing!
